Les lecteurs francophones sont invités à consulter l'annexe de ma thèse, laquelle contient une description complète de la maquette CoTASS et de son processus de conception. Ma thèse est disponible en ligne aux formats PostScript et PDF.
CoTASS is a prototype of a possible implementation for a flight deck Navigation Display. This display enables the pilot to create and modify his flight plan by direct manipulation on the screen. Only flight plan lateral revision are possible, but error warnings, system interruptions, and error recovery are implemented. The application uses real aeronautical data from the CENA Toulouse. Moreover, data can be added to the database from any GPS (WGS84 format).
CoTASS is intended to show that Interruptions and Error Recovery in Human-Computer Interface design can be take in account very early during the conception process. I have introduced the notion of "deviation" that encapsulate both Interruptions and Error Recovery tasks and proposed a model. Then, I extend some formalisms (MAD, UAN, and Petri nets) to enable them to express deviations. The conception process of CoTASS show a possible complementary use of these models and formalisms.
